Mr Masoud Afnan FRCOG
Consultant Obstetrician, a Gynaecologist & Fertility Specialist
A consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Birmingham Women's Hospital
since 1992, where he was the Director of Assisted Conception
Unit from 1994-2004. He has specialised in the field of infertility
and assisted conception since 1985. He is an internationally
recognised infertility consultant, an Inspector for the UK Human Fertilisation
and Embryology Authority, and a Board member of the British Fertility
Society. He chairs the training committee of the British Fertility
Society. He has authored over 50 publications. Mr Afnan provides services
in gynaecology, fertility, assisted conception and early pregnancy care.
Mr Arri Coomarasamy, MBChB, MD, MRCOG
Consultant Gynaecologist & Fertility Specialist
Arri Coomarasamy is a Consultant Gynaecologist, an Accredited Specialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery (Fertility) and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. He obtained advanced fertility training at the internationally reputed Assisted Conception Unit at Guy’s and St.Thomas’ Hospitals in London. Mr Coomarasamy’s special expertise include fertility investigations, IVF, miscarriage investigations and treatment, fibroid surgery and keyhole surgery for infertility. He is a consultant at the Birmingham Women’s Hospital.
Mr Coomarasamy has published over 70 research articles in top international medical journals, has written several medical books, and is the author of a gynaecology book which is used throughout the world by doctors specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology (The book won prestigious BMA “Highly Commended” Award in 2009). He is a scientific editor for the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
He holds over £6 million in research grants, and runs an active research programme, particularly in the fields of IVF and miscarriage, enabling him to bring the most up-to-date and cutting edge care to infertile couples and couples with recurring miscarriages.

Mrs Madhurima Rajkhowa MD MRCOG,
Consultant Gynaecologist
Mrs Rajkhowa is a Consultant Gynaecologist Birmingham Women’s Hospital and Lead Clinician for the Assisted Conception Unit since April 2009. Previous to this she has been an established Consultant Gynaecologist at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, Dundee, Scotland for seven years, where she led a highly successful Assisted Conception Unit.. She is a trained subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery from Leeds and has practised in this field since 1997. She is known both nationally and internationally as a fertility specialist particularly in the management of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. She is a member of the Subspecialist Training Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and has published widely in peer reviewed journals. Mrs Rajkhowa provides services in infertility, assisted conception, adolescent and general gynaecology, and in out patient gynaecology.

Mr Zaki Almallah MB ChB MD FRCS (Edinburgh) FRCS (Urology),
Infertility Specialist
Mr Almallah is the lead male infertility specialist at University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (Queen Elizabeth Hospital) with specialist experience in azoospermia; vasography and microsurgical sperm retrieval. He performs reversal of vasectomy using microsurgical techniques (high magnifying surgical microscope).
His experience in Urology goes back to 1997 at the University of Aberdeen and Birmingham hospitals with several awards. He has long list of scientific publications and guest lectures. He was a visiting Consultant at the University of Colorado Health Science Centre, USA and the University of Johannes Gutenberg, Mainz, Germany. He has also provided consultancy work for the department of health, NICE and the pharmaceutical industry and other specialist organisations.
Mr Zaki Almallah is a well recognised expert in the field of urological surgery in the West Midlands (male infertility, bladder and prostate dysfunction, incontinence as well as laser stone surgery) and with a large tertiary referral practice from the whole of Birmingham area as well as Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire and beyond.
